Jurong Cold Store Pte Ltd (JCS) was taken over by our new management
in 1996, with a land area of 9,927 square metre located in Jurong Industrial Estate. The company was reorganized
and had extended the existing building, providing an
Integrated Cold Storage and Warehousing services to clients in foodstuff businesses, with the intention to position the company as a major frozen food logistic hub in Singapore.
The new extension was completed in 1998 together with the introduction of the Computerized Warehousing Management System (WMS)--“Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS)” to the Company. This system enables fast turnaround services for the client, and has boost the productivity of cold store services. To date, Jurong Cold Store has an overall built-in area of 6,065 square metres for storage capacity of 4,000 tonnes of frozen seafoods, for processing of foodstuff and has more than 20 cold rooms for customers' storage.
We have a HACCP certified processing plant in Indonesia to constantly supply both quality sea-caught and farm raised seafoods to Singapore, directly from their harbour. The introduction of the high-tech equipment to the processing plant via the transfers of technology has increased the supply of top quality seafood to Singapore tremendously.
All frozen seafood are shipped to Singapore’s warehouse by our own reefer vessel directly from our own port.
Now, we have four farms on 100 hectares of land cultivating seawater shrimps in cement ponds. The low cost of production in Indonesia allows Jurong Cold Store to supply 4000 tonnes of good quality frozen shrimps at competitive prices to both Singapore and overseas market. Jurong Cold Store is also in agreement with several Indonesian shrimp farms for the supply of their farms’ harvest. This will further ensure a steady supply of quality farm raised shrimps.
